SolarWinds Orion Threat

There have been multiple reports from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) about the fact that malicious threats and foreign actors have been exploiting vulnerabilities in SolarWinds Orion products, primarily by leveraging the Sunburst malware. SolarWinds Orion is a monitoring solution. 

PC/OpenSystems, being a Linux and Enterprise Linux solution distributor; does not now, nor have we ever used any SolarWinds products as we do not use any Microsoft Windows platforms in any of its incarnations in any kind of managerial capacity. Windows 10 in our infrastructure is used in isolated Virtual Machine environments for testing purposes only. As a result, our customers’ information is not vulnerable to these exploits. 

We advise our enterprise customers who may be using the SolarWinds Orion platform to review and implement available firewall updates and rules to keep your systems secure. PC/OpenSystems LLC will continue to assist in assessing the overall security of your Information Technology infrastructure.
